People can apply for membership of the association by mailing to the board as descibed in Maintainer Signup. The board than discusses the application. In general, an application is accepted if the applicant has produced a releasable package or contributed in another valuable way to the project. Acceptance and denial of applications is posted on maintainers@. When an applicant is denied there will be a full explanation given. The list of accepted members is published at Open Community Software Association Members.
Revocation of membership
A member of the association has the obligation to keep his packages up-to-date. If a member fails to update his packages within four weeks he can be advised from the board to do so. If the member is not updating the packages within the following four weeks the board decides about eviction from membership.
